I would name it Fred, and have one-way conversations with it - in the same manner as my normal conversations normally go. We'd watch the sunsets together and go walking on snowy beaches - well Fred would more or less travel on my shoulder - a gallop in the sand may prove to be a deadly misadventure - you know.
