Since the age of 14, Chaculvin is and will forever be an entertainment industry triple threat, with major accomplishments in music, TV and film under his belt. The Jacksonville native began touring with acclaimed singers Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Omarion, & Brian McKnight as a background vocalist between the years of 2003 - 06, when he was just a young bird. Chaculvin has collaborated with producers, songwriters and artists including Bobby & Izzy Availa(Usher), The Underdoggs, Troy Taylor(Whitney Houston & Ginuwine), The Co-Stars, Rex Righout (Luther Vandross & Toni Braxton) Robbie Nevil, B2K, Marques Houston, Trey Songz, Lil Mo, Dick Rudolph to name a few. The already impressive career for this recent high school graduate is showing no signs of slowing down, as Chaculvin observes, I can do multiple things and be successful. I have many passions, and I tend to go after them all full-throttle! And 2007 is looking to be a very musical year for Chaculvin. But Chaculvin has his own unique style. I have so many influences from various genres of music. In R&B flavor, Pop and Hip-Hop, as well as Gospel, I admire so many people, including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, James Brown, Usher, Alicia Keys, Kim Burrell and Darryl Coley, he explains. On his Demo, Chaculvin has played alot of instruments except live guitar, wrote and produced alot of songs. I take great pride in my artistic freedom, he says. It is truly a blessing to be able to make beautiful music and write great songs directly from my heart and soul. Though he's also inspired by his Mother and his close cousin Chaka Khan, its not only romantic love that Chaculvin writes about. Its a back-to-school class of love, but in an unorthodox way, he explains. Its about the twists in relationships. My aim is to write timeless, heartfelt, feel-good songs. I refuse to give nothing less than the best! Plus, touring with the likes of Omarion & Sammie, appearing on Access Hollywood, MTVs TRL, and BETs 106 & Park, performing at venues including L.A.s famed Wiltern Theatre as well as conducting press interviews, was like a university of music for the quick-learning singer. As he notes, Through the stars I worked with, I learned how to conduct myself; the etiquette of being a performer and being in the public eye. The public eye is a place Chaculvin has been almost since birth, as his mother recalls: As a preteen, his Pastor prophesied that he would definitely be a musician & entertainment!" By the age of 5 Chaculvin was in church singing God's blessings, singing at family functions. And at every Christmas program or ceremony in middle school and high school, he was singing solos, the center of attention. In the Childrens Choir at church he became a featured soloist, and at age 7 Chaculvin became fascinated with the idea of directing choirs and orchestras. At home, he would blast his music, drag his mother into the living room and direct her as if she's the choir and orchestra playing on the boom box! Soon he was assisting with and directing choirs such as the Childrens Choir, High Praise Youth Choir and Mt. Zion MB Youth Choir around Jacksonville. Chaculvin was playing piano and taking vocal training by 9, and at 15, he enrolled in John Robert Powers. There he trained in acting (theatrical and commercial), voice, and dance (hip hop, modern and jazz) under Kim Flowers (Talent Manager / JRP Las Vegas ), Nicole Pearce (JRP Jacksonville). In his second semester at John Robert Powers he landed the starring role in the commercial for Mount Everest within Orlando, Florida; and the raves and standing ovations he earned convinced the young performer he had the talent to go the distance, which he furthered in plays at The Florida Theater, including The Nutcracker, Peter Pan and Grease. Chaculvin also played Lil Michael Jackson in the All-American Dream Story under the directorship of Jake Lace. It was double confirmation that Chaculvin was as talented an actor as he was a musician from a massive casting call of actors. This was one of the most challenging roles Ive ever played. But despite his youthful success in the fields of music, acting and theatre, Chaculvin stuck to a challenging and rigorous academic schedule in high school, as well as playing varsity basketball and participating in Track & Field. He continued studying at JRP, doing commercial and theatrical auditions, performances, vocal, school, and church--all while maintaining a high honor roll status! His world travels allowed Chaculvin to practice his fluent Spanish. My plate was extremely full, and I was stretching it far too thin, he understates. I would be leaving one rehearsal or practice early to arrive late to the next; staying up until 4 o'clock in the morning to study for a test or to rehearse my lines for a script became second nature. Many times my mother would come into my room in the middle of the night and make me go to bed! His varsity basketball coach eventually gave him an ultimatum, and Chaculvin made the tough decision to choose entertainment and academics over basketball. Now it is vividly evident that I made the right decision, and I thank God for giving me clarity in my decision-making process, he says. Although Chaculvin has enjoyed a blessed life, there were dark days in the fall of 2005 when his cousin passed away due to neumonia. His cousin last wish was to see Chaculvin graduate from high school, and that wish came true. The emotional pain I feel from the loss of my cousin cannot be described or put into words, says Chaculvin of his cousin passing. He channeled his feelings into music, in the midst of his hurt writing a new song for his loss. As a proven multi-talent, the charismatic and driven Chaculvin intends to remain active in every facet of the entertainment industry. Music was my first love, but I plan to also use it as a platform for my acting career. And while he was a serious child and has been compared to actors including Denzel Washington & Taye Diggs. Chaculvin would also like to write and star in his own sitcom as well as films. Ambitious? Yes. But Chaculvin has already proven that no challenge is too great and no goal unreachable. Just try to hold him back! On January 6-10 , 2006, Chaculvin made his Los Angeles Debut Performance at the Sheraton. He packed the venue with over 5000 in attendance, including entertainment leaders within the fields of music, art, TV and film such as Tracie Bestford (London,UK), Anthony Meyer (Alumni Entertainment) Bonnie Ventis (K.S.A) David Schemeber (Morgan Agency), Harriet Greenspan (Nickelodeon Castings), Joey Paul Jensen (Disney & Nickelodeon Castings), Marnie Saitta (Casting Director for The Young & The Restless), Troy Taylor (producer) and a host of family, friends and music fans. Josh Duhamel (Star Of NBC's Las Vegas) hosted the event. Chaculvin performed 4 songs including My Perogative a tribute to one of his personal music legends, Bobby Brown, and his new, hit single, How Sorry I Am. He recently performed at the Gospel SuperFest hosted by Kirk Franklin and J Moss in New York City Downtown Manhatten where over 2100 underserved people received GOD for the very first time. I was honored to be a part of such a positive contribution and to eploit and worship GOD in the misdt of it, Chaculvin says. Chaculvin is a young man of Integrity and Dignity. He loves People and GOD. However, He is in love with GOD because of God is the one that kept him through the hard times and struggles/wrestles with the devil. God was the one that stepped in and said devil you can't have this one. So thats just a snippet of Chaculvin's life now just think what all his life was about and what it has to offer.
