About Me

I have a total of 20 toes and fingers. A tater tot goes to anyone who can guess the number of each.

My Interests

I'm just your typical Northwesterner who is equally happy hanging out in a coffee shop or pub on a rainy winter day or running around in the forests and deserts of Oregon when it's dry. I love to read, listen to music, and just chill. I also like to travel when the budget allows.

I'd like to meet:

The guy looking over your shoulder right now.Made you look!

Music:

The music I listen to totally depends on my mood. I like everything from classical to jazz to hard rock. I usually listen to music while I'm sitting around reading, so for that I like mellower stuff. I can easily be kicked into a good 50s era jazz mood, or use some rock to take out aggressions, too. Some favorites include: Anna Nalick (I just can't get enough), Keri Noble, Aslyn, Toby Lightman, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, U2, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Traveling Wilbury's, The Wallflowers, Tom Petty, Jet, The Killers, BB King, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and on and on.

Movies:

Oh man, movies totally depend on my mood, too. I like the comedies, but I can also really get into a good drama or documentary. Some recent favorites are Garden State, The Big Lebowski, and Varsity Blues.

Television:

I, errrr, don't watch TV. Yeah, that's it!

Books:

Way too many to list. So here I go: Anything by Vladimir Nabokov, Jack Kerouac, or Ernest Hemingway. Christopher Buckley is hilarious!! I like Kurt Vonnegut in small doses. James Watson is the best writing scientist of all time; his memoirs are great. An occasional Tolstoy or Dostoyevsky can be nice. I read A Tale of Two Cities while visiting Paris and London. Also, I'm always open to new ideas.

Hot water

So, this morning I had no hot water. Taking a cold shower in the morning is SUCH an annoyance (that's all it is, because if that's the worst thing I have to complain about, then yay for me!). If thi...

Books

So, am I the only one who feels like finishing a good book is like ending a relationship? Not just in the lame "relationship with the characters" type of way. But, you're so into the whole reading t...
