Well i've known RD all his life, and Justin i met at a Strokes show in Vegas about 5 years ago. Jordan is RD's friend from high school, and James was the spelling bee champion in middle school so we put him on the drums..... ......................................................... ......................................................... 3) JAMIE KYLE: describe your sound in three words - RD: Have a listen .................................................. ......................................................... ......................................................... 4)JAMIE KYLE: how did you come up with the name sergeant? - RD: We were thinking of naming it Lt. Dan, but that was taken, so was bubba gump and the shrimp co., so Sergeant fell on to the plate right............................... Ariyan: Plus you could throw pepper right behind it. ......................................................... ......................................................... ......................................................... 5) JAMIE KYLE: how far have you come since? - Ariyan: We've come a long way, but not far enough. We're where we need to be i suppose. We have a VH1 Rock Honors show at The Roxy in a week so that should be good exposure................................................. ......................................................... ......................................................... 6)JAMIE KYLE: who do u want to listen to your music? - Ariyan: Our musics for anyone who'll take it. We always wanted to make something for people to take hand in hand with the way they live. Give them the same feeling Oasis gave us with Live Forever and Cigs and Alcohol. You know what i mean?............................................. ......................................................... ......................................................... 7)JAMIE KYLE: how long before there are some more tracks to listen to on your space? - RD: We've been recording our EP and it should be up in about two weeks so the end of May. There are three new ones and an updated version of 60's and Baby Blue that's mega. It's pretty fucking nuts............................ .......................................................... .......................................................... 8) JAMIE KYLE: with so many british influences on your music do you feel as though you were born on the wrong side of the atlantic? - RD: Wrong side of the atlantic, wrong side of teh mississipi, wrong side of my bed..we've all definitely grew up on UK influenced music, ranging from blur, stone roses, libertines, and all that good shit. although we all might feel like outsiders at times, we represent LA to the grave. we would love to play shows in the UK though, feel like the people there might understand us a bit better. i don't even know if i answered your question, but hope i was close................................................. .......................................................... .......................................................... 8) JAMIE KYLE: apart from the acts mention on your space, which british act/band impress you most at the moment? - Ariyan: I'm into Razorlight, love The Dirty Pretty Things, huge Good Bad & Queen Fan...Damon has some genius qualities, very Bowie like. Fratellis...are they from the UK? ...................................................... RD: Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Kooks. They're all good..... .......................................................... .......................................................... 9) JAMIE KYE: which established american band impress you at the moment? - RD: The band that impresses me the most the moment is probably the Kings of Leon, I just saw them at Coachella, and they really put on a kick ass show. They've got a good vibe on stage.......................................... Ariyan: I'm into The Cold War Kids. They're a band from LA that's doing well out on your side........................ ............................................................ ....................................................... 10) JAMIE KYLE: what can people expect before clicking on and listening sergeant music?- Ariyan: A feeling of familiarity, we're not trying to change the face of music, just it's look. I really want to make music that i can listen to. I can't stand radio in America. If you've made it out then you know what i mean. .........................................we are just making the great tunes of the past 40 years sound fresh, rejuvenated and sergeant................................ ........................................................ ........................................................ 11) JAMIE KYLE:your very responsive to your fans comments, is that because its the people who buy the music that count? - Ariyan: Nice to assume that people buy music these days. Of course, the music is for the people and fans who want it. If i wanted to make music for myself i'd just keep it to myself. This is music that needs to be heard, old, young, middle aged, this is music for the rich and poor, and everyone in between.................................RD: There is no heirarchy when it comes to this band, we're all equal and that's the way we want them to feel...................... ......................................................... ......................................................... 12) JAMIE KYLE: you are very ambitous, what drives you and the band on? - Ariyan: I suppose my ambition comes from all the crap that's out there today. I can't stand all the shit i hear from bands that make it these days. I've always wanted to make music that people can relate to and make them want to pick up a guitar and say i want to be like that. Half the bands that are signed are borderline trannies...i don't need to mention names..................................... .......................................................... .......................................................... 13) JAMIE KYLE: you guys are very ambitous, how long before you hope to play in england? - RD: Early 2008.
