About Me

I started out in the mid-90s playing bass with various proto-britpop chorus-dispensers. It was all a bit tripe and so I moved on to provide beats, bass and 'sonic-mospherics' for pompous dirge-peddling scenesters Basil. Mr Tune was mocking us from outside the window of the rehearsal room, whilst we blindly stumbled around in drone-chester without a song-map.It was all a bit joyless and so, with the aid of a cheap sampler and a turntable, I set about reviving the rancid corpse of big-beat or some puerile derivative. And here I am - like a budget Bentley Rhythm Ace but less funny... I know, tell me about it. I have to make this stuff.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: One boy. One sampler. One turntable. One legal grey area regarding samples. Variable results.
Influences: The KLF, Skip James, The Magnetic Fields, Leadbelly, Kid606, Douglas Coupland, Half Man Half Biscuit, Newnight's Kirsty Wark.
Sounds Like: Well, the phrase 'drill'n'pop sampletone' was thrown about for a bit. But that was by the same person who said I "still ought to have done more with it like, despite the limited resources."
Record Label: Come on, have you heard it?

The review thing of 2008 listing albums of the year in 2008 in a list.

Ooooooh, the wait is over. In order to compile this list I've had to spend countless nights not leaving the house, just sat by the dansette, listening to last year's albums again and again and again. ...
