With a new name and a new sound, the members of the contemporary gospel band JOINT HEIR have a new CD – “An Intimate Encounterâ€.
Based out of Statesville, NC, this high energy group – formerly known as Day One - has been on the scene for more than10 years, using its musical talents and faith to tell the power of God’s love. To distinguish themselves even more in the industry, the decision was made in 2006 to change the group’s name to JOINT HEIR.
Guaranteed to appeal to a variety of audiences, “An Intimate Encounter†has an urban contemporary gospel sound that is both inspirational and electrifying. The song, “Your Love is Amazing†will grab listeners who enjoy classic R&B, while the hip-hop sound of “Try Jesus†will delight younger fans. All of the songs are original and are performed by some of the best musicians on the east coast. The six-member group was conceived by veteran musician/writer Freddie Morrison, who performed professionally for many years as bass guitarist for the R&B group Janice. The other members of JOINT HEIR are: Brandon Carr, Bryant Gabriel, Rickey Long, Derone McNeill, and NEW MEMBER Daniel Kondas. In addition to being outstanding musicians, they all are also incredible men of faith, actively participating in their church’s music programs.
Since 1994, these musicians have been overwhelmed by the response of their audiences as they opened for such gospel greats as Yolanda Adams and toured in Rome and Naples as part of a mission team. In 2003, they were named “Contemporary Gospel Group of the Year†by the North Carolina Gospel Announcers Guild. Their first CD, “Standing on the Promises†helped rocket their popularity throughout the south and made them a favorite at gospel music concerts and events.
This project was recorded at CARR-Iz-Matic Studio owned by Co-producer and drummer Brandon Carr. Freddie Morrison also co-produced the project.
