Mad Margaret

Long-time friends and songwriters Renee Perrone & Bec Smith join forces to create Mad Margaret, a new musical duo just starting to perform out in the Twin Cities. With a focus on musical and lyrical storytelling, Smith & Perrone compliment each other's unique voices, as they master tight vocal harmonies while using acoustic guitar to accompany their original songs. Not new to the local music scene, as both women front rock bands outside of the Mad Margaret project, the songwriters insist that the magic lies in the raw format. "Once you strip away everything but the song and what it has to say, there's a vulnerability that exists," says Smith about playing acoustically. Mad Margaret capitalizes on this vulnerability in their music, that almost tells a story even without lyrics.
