Prone to late-night heartburn, dry skin, and salt addiction, Ms. Thompson is hardly the picture of youth or health, yet manages to fully embrace the duller side of life with the energy of a much younger woman who has not yet been tarnished by the trials of making a living. Brazen but shy, sarcastic yet kind, she is truly an inspiration and endless source of amusement to the few who choose not to ignore her.
