I am an artist, photographer, writer and a poet. I have been making art since before I was able to hold a pencil or paintbrush myself. I owe that to my Mom, who used to guide my hand over the paper or canvas to create wonderful art. I remember my very first rabbit.....a little boxy with over-long ears.....still recognizable as a bunny. My art has a socially conscious aspect, with much of my work dealing with women's issues (body image, personal beauty versus commercial beauty, abuse, violence against women, etc.), and environmental issues, with recycled materials being a staple in my creative endeavours. When asked what I do, I simply say I make things. I am told I have a balanced brain....meaning I can use both sides of my brain with equal effect. Then again it also means I struggle with the logical and creative aspects of my personality....I know I have to balance books today, but I really want to just hide in the studio and paint...I make everything from jewelry to bellydance costumes, to watercolour paintings, I take the camera out and shoot for hours on end, I use popcans to create little metal sculptures, and far more than I can list without boring anyone to tears....
