Approach
We are immediately available to begin design work on your skatepark project.
Site Visit / Design MeetingTypically it takes us fifteen days to prepare a complete 3-dimensional skatepark design submittal. We start with a design meeting in your town where we brainstorm design concepts with your team. This might include site selection visits, analysis of the site and drainage possibilities. An effective Design can lower bids, potentially increasing square footage by designing the park to the contour of the land, and many other cost reducing measures Grindline has developed through our years of experience in the field.
Design Submittal / ReviewThree weeks later we send you two copies of five different perspective views of the proposed park design, all composed of realistic 3d renderings, on 24†x 36†paper. Your committee then reviews the design and notes any changes or comments you want us to consider, then sends us back the marked-up copy. You may also view the progress of the design on the Grindline website, under your project name.
Revision / final reviewExecuting your team’s design suggestions, we draft a final design schematic of your park. For your final review and acceptance, prior to printing five perspective views of your park, in full color on glossy 24†x 36†sheets. These images can be publicly displayed for your local community to better understand (and hopefully encourage them to support) your skatepark project. Digital Copies and your town’s name branded on the grindline website forever, with access for design reviews, comments, feedback, and someday Pictures of you skating with the pro's at the grand opening.
Construction DocumentsOnce this conceptual design has been finalized, we begin work on the construction documents. Inserting Topographical survey, Soil, and site analysis, Civil Engineering, and peripheral architectural design. We then draft detailed construction specifications and create multiple construction drawings, including all Plan and Section views necessary for local building codes, requirements and permits.

A Testimonial
Watching a skate park being built is like watching art in progress. At least that is the process used by Grindline, the Seattle based company building Trinidad’s skate park. Owner and Field Supervisor Mark (Monk) Hubbard says, “We set out to build the world’s best skate park every time we build.â€
Grindline won the bid to build Trinidad’s park during a competitive bid process. “They came back to us with a great preliminary design and good references,†said Trinidad City Planner Sean Holm. “We are lucky to have them here!â€
A talented crew of equally enthusiastic skaters joins Hubbard. Grindline is setting the standards for building skate parks across the nation. Grindline has five foreman leading five seven-man crews, all multi-talented, working as excavators, engineers, carpenters, welders, and concrete crews. “We have a welding crew, a rebar crew, a form crew, and a rubble (grading) crew,†says Dave (Shags) Palmer. When asked, “Who does what?†he laughingly replied, “We all do everything!â€
The design for the park has evolved from the original plan. “Area businesses, clubs, and individuals really pitched in after Grindline arrived, allowing us to build a much bigger park than originally planned,†said RIP member Penny Bieber. “The response was absolutely phenomenal, and we will be formally thanking everyone with a blowout opening ceremony and party when the park is completed!â€
Pending good weather, Grindline intends to begin shooting concrete this week. The park will be poured with a concrete technique called “shot creteâ€, which uses pressurized air to shoot concrete on over-vertical walls. Big Steve is one of Grindline’s “gnarly†nozzlemen. The park will be shot in sections while grading and form setting continues in other sections.
