Band Members: Andy Northrup, Pat Campbell, Ed Garrick
Influences: Mostly singer/songwriters like Rosanne Cash, Steve Earle, Dolly Parton, Joni Mitchell, Dylan, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Jez Lowe, Bruce Cockburn, John Mellencamp, Martyn Joseph, Neil Finn, Garnet Rogers, Jann Arden, Cyndi Lauper, George O'Dowd (Boy George), Shawn Colvin, Iris Dement and on and on. Love lots of rock oriented stuff like Green Day, Rush, Peter Gabriel, Queen, Elton John, REM, The Cars, Metallica, U2, Richard Thompson. Very excited by Crowded House getting back together and touring. Just saw the Police two weeks ago and if you haven't seen them you should. They're back together for the right reasons and rocking out. It's great.
Sounds Like: Andy has been described by Outlooks magazine's David Crosson as "Bruce Springsteen with 'fag' on his t-shirt or Bob Dylan with a shrunken hypothalamus". This made Andy laugh out loud and wonder how Bruce and Bob would have felt about the comparison. Larry Flick of Billboard magazine called Andy's 'Slow Burn Avenue' "a sterling debut" with J. Knutson formerly of Canada's "Spirit of the West" describing it as "introspective and well-written tunes by Edmonton's best kept secret". Andy's second effort "Cardboard Logic" was raved about by Andy Donnelly of Canada's CKUA radio as "lyrically brilliant and musically great" with Frank Hennesey of BBC Radio calling it "dark, intense and just great". Hear them and decide for yourself.
