About Me

MY ALBUM IS NOW AVAILABLE ON i-TUNES I'm happy to tell you now that our album is available on i-tunes. The physical release is currently only available through sending me a message here or on the facebook page. However, soon it will be on various websites with easier methods for you to purchase online .. (Kite records our label, CD Baby, Amazon and most excitingly my own....coming soon!) I'll keep you informed! Mr Wolf's 2008 photos by TomMiss Cecily...there is a colourful tale to tell spanning a century of many lives and many places, deals made and broken, of accidental magic potions and a search for the distant music of her gypsy people .. One day this story will be told.. But for now I shall only speak of the present for that is all that ever really matters:I am a singer songwriter and jazz singer currently based in Bristol, England with a nomadic soul and links in many cities I've passed through;in particular Cadiz in Spain where myself and our guitarist Tom began playing together in a busking duo. The band formed on return to Bristol and grew over the past couple of years. Last spring I was a finalist in the BBC Radio 2 new talent songwriters competition 2008. Highlight gigs for us have been Shambala Festival with the amazing Klaus joining us on stage to show off his flamenco dancing skills (if I could get the damn video to upload I'd share it with you all..hillarious!), The Jelli Records stage at The new Bristol Festival and supporting Smith and Mighty in my very own neighbourhood community centre. We've played various gigs in Bristol, Bath, London and elsewhere. I could go on but less chat more music I say! Come to a gig and check us out or email us for a CD. We have a 4 track EP available...and I'm excited to report that our debut album is due for release at the end of May 2009, so watch this space for details of the launch! Here's a video filmed by the lovely Gary Thomas of us at The Pro Cathedral in Bristol, it's a beautiful building but it does have the acoustics of a cathedral (kind of sounds like we're in a school hall but I assure you we're not!) My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Miss Cecily Pearce: voice, guitar, ukulele, writing of songs. Mr Geraint James: double bass and electric bass Mr Tom Grundman: guitar , harmonica, ciaranga Mr Simon Cass: drums Miss Karen Yair : accordian, sax and flute
Influences: Growing up an only child escaping through music, listening to everything that came my way from the "sound of music"; to punk and indie, hip hop to country, techno to jazz, soul, latin, music from every country and 20th century era that I've ever visited or dreamt about visiting... And in general... travelling, running away, restling with staying put, letter boxes bringing piles of paperwork, urban anxiety, being skint, daydreaming, feeling misplaced in this era in the modern western world, loving tiny bits of it despairing at most of it! joining a vaudeville travelling circus in the southern states circa 1920 and a band of flamenco gypsies in the 1940's, busking ancient city streets and plazas..neon lit motels appearing like ghosts on empty highways, waiting for the first bus at dawn in a one horse town, the early morning sun, the ocean, night trains, boarder towns..being dusty brown with sun tanned bare feet, existing mainly in a candy floss cloud of day dreams and nostalgia..
Sounds Like: Billie Holiday meets Hank Williams down a dingy Paris alleyway cueing for a nightclub with his posse of Andalucian Gypsies and wandering Jews.
Type of Label: Indie
