Markus Riva is young, talented singer, musician, composer, lyrics author, actor. The well-known hits like 1 at STAR FM chart DALA NO TEVIS and top 10 single in Muzikala Banka TAVA TUVUMA have been in charts all around the country. Markus has studied in Riga Dom choir school since year 14 and has graduated in 2006. Markus has participated in several contests for young musicians. He has won in contest DZIESMA MANAI PAAUDZEI in year 2003, recievieng a GRAND PRIX honour. Singer cought sight in musicians world when he was a backvocalist for the duo CREEM which performed a song by Yana KAY, who offered a contract with her label DEESELECTA. Now he is working on his debue album for year 2008.The main thing that motivates Markus career in music is his passion with this unique thing. Now, after 17 years of living his life with music, Markus is more than sure that he will spend all his life with this kind of living. Markus started his career in year 3 in a local talent show but he didn't get any but It's still very clearly in his mind how the host asked to Markus - what he would be when he will be an adult. And Markus said that he will be an actor and musician. And step by step this dream has become true. Markus has always motivated his self because there was nobody who really supports him. Markus is seeing an image in his mind what He wants to be and what He has to do to became this person in that image.In November of 2006, Markus participated in musical by Leonard Bernstein - WEST SIDE STORY, playing one of the JETS gang who fights with Latino gang called SHARKS. In year 2007 he got a role for this musical and brightly played ACTION role. In the early 2008 Markus will play on musical LES MISERABLES. Once he was working on teens broadcast JUNIORS TV but now he is a producer and host for youth broadcast RADIOBUMBA in Latvian Radio 1. Markus has traveled a lot all around the world and that makes sense to his music and personality. Sometimes he works as a model for fashion displays. And he is a composer not only for his self but also for other Latvian artists.Markus musical inspirations consists of strong emotions from his life: "Because life and experience is that what you are at the moment. I am absolutely pop act, but as I have studied music as my main education I am inspired by classical music same as by all kinds of contemporary music acts. But my respect goes to artists like Beyonce – she is a Godess, Ne-Yo – he is next Stevie Wonder (which I like as well, of course), all kinds of R&B and Pop acts, house music. In my opinion if you want to make stylish pop music then you have to know what are your colleagues are doing.
