Solblot

About Me

Solblot was formed in south of Sweden during spring 2003. The music is principally based on the north european folk tradition, with some experimental elements.
The instruments we use are mainly acoustic guitar, accordion and different kinds of percussion, but also other acoustic instruments such as cow horn, bagpipe etc.
Conceptually Solblot has a concentration towards Swedish nature- and national romantics. With simple means we want to portray a kind of musical straight forwardness and devotion before a polished and perfected presentation. The music it self is a visualisation of the tale and myth of Scandinavia which is coloured by nostalgia which by necessity puts its marks on that which has been. Bearing that in mind we would also like to state that we have no political or religious connections/interests what so ever. First and foremost we are artists and therefore we whish to have no involvement with any political and/or religious groups.
We would like to see Solblot as politically and religiously independent. Our belief in the unique value of all human beings regardless of nationality, ethnic heritage, colour of skin, sexual orientation, religion or political beliefs is essentially a matter of fundamental human rights rather than a political agenda.
