Bio:
Benjamin Schatz started playing the violin at the age of four and the piano at the age of six. After studying classical piano he became a student (jazz piano) of Richie Beirach at the Musikhochschule Leipzig where he graduated in 2008. Since October he lives in Vienna/Austria where he is working on his masters at the "Konservatorium Wien".Competitions:
• 1. Prize "International Music Competitions of the Val Tidone" in Pianello/Italy (2000)
• 2. Prize "Internationaler Klavierwettbewerb Barthelt" in Ingolstadt (2001)
• Winner "Concerto Competition California State University Long Beach/USA" (2004)
• Winner of a complete CD recording in 2009 at the "International Jazzmeeting Generations 2008" in Frauenfeld/Switzerland - Production for the Suisse Radio DRS 2

Vita:
Benjamin Schatz begann im Alter von vier Jahren Violine und mit sechs Jahren Klavier zu spielen. Nach einem klassischen Klavierstudium wurde er Student (Jazzklavier) von Richie Beirach an der Musikhochschule Leipzig, wo er im Juni 2008 seinen Abschluss machte (Note 1,0). Seit Oktober lebt er in Wien und studiert im Masterstudiengang am Konservatorium.
