TYCHICUS VASQUEZDate of Birth: December 10, 1983Having a lifelong fascination with the art of cinema, Tychicus Vasquez, began shooting short films in his early teens. After graduating from Richmond Hill High School in New York, Tychicus moved upstate to attend the State University of New York, Albany, where he majored in Effective Storytelling. He was also employed as a Television Director for its college station. During this period, Tychicus produced three original series and worked closely with known musical director, Charles Valataro. He then moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 2005 to work on an independent short entitled, “The Nanny” directed by Angelo Bell. Following this, Tychicus began undergraduate studies at the Art Institute of Los Angeles. During which time, he also worked for Platinum Studios as their Story Assistant. It was here that his ambition to become a filmmaker was solidified. In the winter of 2008, Tychicus received an award for Best of Quarter in Directing and later for his script, Relentless, chronicling the life of a budding pedophile who struggles with his desires and his friendship with an abused ten year old boy. Inspired by filmmakers like Christopher Nolan, M. Night Shyamalan and Paul McGuigan, Tychicus then went on to produce/direct his short film: Pattern of Evil. He next directed his well-received short: Call Me, Hero, starring newcomer, Robert DuBois.After graduating from the Art Institute in the fall, Tychicus worked on several productions for such companies as Sony Pictures Entertainment, Florence Productions and Design by Anni. Finally accepting a position back in New York as a freelance Media Technical Director.Last year, Tychicus joined fellow filmmaker and friend, David Audelo Jr., in expanding the infant production company, Purpose Motion Pictures.
