A reason to throwdown, slam, pit, punch, kick and release any frustration the world my have left on you...Reasontolive was started by a bunch of friends who wanted to see a rise in South African hardcore when the scene was still unknown to the majority of the country...Three members coming from a previous band Choas 5.0 decided to bring more brutality to the bands sounds and with that, a stronger message for unity in the hardcore scene.
Having gone thru ups and downs during the past 6years reasontolive have kept to the sound they truely believe to be real, aggressive and positive...not swayed by the need to be commercial or crowd pleasers, the guys in the band believe that the music speaks for itself in a real and heart-felt way...
Driven by fast teeth grinding beats, intertwined with slow gut wrenching breakdowns. The lyrics range from abstract(getting some of their inspiration from movie scenes like 300) to a more real, personal level(songs like circle of friends n behind my back), the message is about personal choices, life, society as a whole and what a person believes to be real to them...having kept to the hc creed of friends, family and personal choice, aswell as believing in growing a scene in South Africa, reasontolive deliver a sound that is in it's own class...
