Briana Marela

About Me

Formerly from Seattle, Briana Marela now resides in Olympia, where she works on her songwriting and her studies. She is in deep thought about touring in the near future.
In early 2007, she recorded her first EP,Stuck in a Rhythm. Not signed to a label, but self-released her EP under the caring guidance of northwest singer/songwriter Johanna Kunin and Kunin's talented local friends. Produced by Eric Eagle (Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter) as well as help from the incredible Steve Moore and the spectacular Karl Blau. An appearance also by Paris Hurley (Degenerate Art Ensemble, Ribbons). Although the EP sounds great with the full band sound, Briana has played her shows exclusively acoustic up until most recently. Now when her friend Shelby Turner (Sundance Kids, Desolation Wilderness) isn't too busy, he plays bass and minimal keyboard parts, which sound great!
Currently learning about electronic music, and audio recording, and trying to figure out how to get some good gear with not a lot of money. As always, working on new material, getting shows, and cd packaging. Stay updated by checking back periodically!
