Savvy Traveller was formed in January of 2007, under the assumed name Tiananmen Square, by Brett Pierce (guitar/vocals), Buddy Shumaker (keyboard/guitar/vocals), Isaac Loveless (drums), and Angie Schroder (vocals). They began crafting a sound that would evolve into a stylish form of high powered mutant psychedelic garage rock. Through-out the next year, members would be dropped and members would be added. Isaac and Angie left the group in the fall of 2007. Shortly after the departure of Isaac, Chris Clinard joined as a temporary drummer. With the acquisition of Chris, a name change occurred. The band previously known as Tiananmen Square was transmutated into Savvy Traveller. Under the new name a fan base began to build.
What is now known as Savvy Traveller was solidified in late December, 2007. After a year of interchangeable drummers (4), and no bassist, the additions of Kevin Kile (drums) and Bryant Hoban (bass guitar) created an unyielding group with dynamic flavor. With a new drummer, Chris (guitar/vocals) was able to come out from behind the drum kit and play an instrument he is more comfortable with- the guitar. When this line-up was formed, Savvy Traveller began moving at the speed of light, and currently shows no signs of slowing down.
While continuing to play shows across the Mid-West Savvy Traveller will record a full length album- the release date and title are still unknown.
