About Me

History of lesson zero part 5: We almost become superstarsBobby came all the way from Santa Cruz, Ca. to play with us. Bobby and Kerry had played together in Death Walk many years back. Awhile after Bobby arrived, Andreas left to spend more time with his family. He was replaced by vid mars who came from Seattle via the asteroid beltway. He had done some recording work previously with Kerry. Vid wrote, sang, and played a mean guitar, but alas, his Mother Ship called him back into the cosmos. He dematerialized before we could reach the recording studio, but not before this rare photo that’s posted was taken. While awaiting another guitarist to fall from the sky, Bobby, guitar George, and Kerry began working on the cd in earnest and sometimes in Springfield. “Scrapin’ Knuckles,” “Coming Back,” “Welcome To The Game,” “I Just Want To Rock With You,” and “No Time Left In Your Head” were all recorded with guitar George doubling up ..boards and 2 guitars, while Kerry and guitar George covered the vocals with Bobby singing backup in “I Just Want To Rock With You.” We got an old friend, Ken, who Kerry played with in Pyramid Stars to sit in on soprano sax for “Runaround,” our cover of the Blues Traveler song. Next, our final installment of the history of lesson zero which brings you up to the present. But still to follow, the science, English, math, PE, and electives of the band. Oh, and one last change as we go to press: Angelo and Bobby out, Andreas and Tom in.By the way, our songs are now available for purchase on Digstation by clicking the button below:Hear us on the radio at WRYR, 97.5 FM or on the web at www.wryr.org; the AMP radio network; www.echoboost.com; DNARadio.net; www.wunnetwork.com in the UK; Cox cable radio; WMUC, 88.1 FM (www.wmucradio.com); WTMD, 89.7 FM; WUVT Blacksburg, 90.7 FM - please call and request us.Lesson Welcome is available at Joe's Record Paradise in Rockville, CD Cellar in Falls Church, Record & Tape Xchange in Fairfax, Red Onion Records & Books, DC, Smash! You can see lyrics on our web page. We didn’t have room for everything. Lesson Welcome was carefully handcrafted and aged to perfection for three years. It is an eclectic variety of LESSON ZERO’s original alternative, indie roots rock, plus a cover and a half. It is something old, something new, something borrowed, and even some blues. It strays from rock’s standard 4/4 to 6/8 and 9/8 time. It’s new adult, contemporary music with a bit of pain, a dose of reality, a smattering of hope, a wink from God, a whole lotta love, a little happiness, considerable fun, occasional excitement, a twist of twisted humor, and of course the proverbial eye of newt, wing of bat, toe of frog, etc. which all adds up to Way Cool Music.
