Well it goes somethin' like this... born by the west beach under the sign of the fish in the year we lost a King. Daughter of righteous Panthers and sho' nuff SNCC. Angela, Rapp, and 'em were at my cribside, so I'm told. Knew early on the political path wasn't for me, so I thought I'd stand on stage & shout, but I didn't like the taste of other people's words in my mouth. Tried hidin' out on Telegraph (U.C. Berkeley ya know?) mixin' test tubes with stuff, but the beakers couldn't hold my Spirit and the grades were crashing. So Mom & Pops shipped me off to the Dirty South to join my sisters at..."Hold yo' man & hold him tight or he might walk off with a Spelmanite!" Degree in hand I headed back to Cally to the beach of U.C.S.D., but they was talking Broadway & I was tryin' to raise consciousness, "So I packed my bags & moved to Beverly, Hills that is, and chilled with the stars. Put some fierce talent in front of the camera. Worked with the best of the best, Jamie before he was so Foxxie, Dutton who's always been a ROC, that Lennix boy who's still the best Malcolm I've ever seen and mo' and mo'. But the stars weren't bright enough and the Red Clay was calling me home where I'm better known to YEA Fam as Backstage Steph. Came back to GA to persue a Divine path which led me into the pulpit & back to the stage! MY CHURCH HAS PROSCENIUM ARCHES and dancin' is all I care to do!
