Normally I am composing for prog outfit Simon Says. A task that can be pretty exhausting, painting in all the colours imaginable. And occasionally a few more.
Every time a new Simon Says project is finished I always try to do the opposite thing: music built on as little as possible. Of course the arrangements can still be bombastic from time to time, but the fundamentals of my synth music is minimalistic.
These tracks are just things I doodled with after feeling drained on ideas due to pressures of compiling new Simon Says material. Simpler, shorter songs that have let me cool down and find new strength to be creative within the prog environment again. Music for relaxation and dreaming, finding direction. It sure has helped me.
Will it help you? Who knows? Probably not. But maybe you should just try to take your time to listen to it all the same. That is what music should be all about: taking your time.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Stefan Renström- Fender fretless bass, synthesizers, programming, samplers, voice. Keyboards used are Korg MS20, Yamaha CS 5, Yamaha CS80V, Ensoniq EPS 16+, Ensoniq ASR-10, Modular Moog V, Roland Juno 6, Roland D20, ARP 2600 V, G-Force Mellotron, NI Prophet 5, NI Vokator, NI Electric Piano.
Influences: This is instant music, just playing from scratch, jamming endlessly, building layers. So while the songs are in fact influenced by noone I still would like to pay homage to Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Popol Vuh, Ash Ra Temple, Brian Eno, Vangelis and Tim Blake, without whom this kind of music would never have been filtered through me.
Sounds Like: Someone playing a lot of keyboards.
