--------------------- ALAN STANFORD KING ----------------------- I remember as a young child listening to my father play the ukulele and organ and my mother playing the piano. There were always musical instruments about the house, guitar, recorder, even an accordion. I would listen to my dad play songs and when he was through, sit on a warm piano bench trying to play what I’d heard. Mom knew early on there was talent about and reinforced my desire to play. At age 10 I was enrolled at Settlement Music School in Philadelphia for classical piano and violin studies where I composed my first of many songs. I began French horn lessons and fell in love with its mellow tone. By age 12 I was playing piano in church and was inspired by organist Rudy Farrell, who taught me how to get over stage fright. I've always had a love for music; Classical, Ragtime, Swing, Seventies Rock, Jazz, R’ n B’, Techno, Funk, Fusion, just to name a few genres. I stay with my heart and dreams and do what makes me happy and at peace. I write. I play.
