The name is Euri. Eureka the Coverboy to be precise. Born and raised in the small city of Francistown (Botswana) within a community where making a living out of any form of music was a no no.
But that didn't make the dream unachievable in my eyes. After all, we do live in a global community in which people are interested in hearing what everybody else has to say about themselves. Especially with rap music as a medium.
So I moved to Cape Town in 2003 to try and make something out of my music. Worked with a start up indie called Struggle Entertainment. Under the wings of my mentors, I moved to Johannesburg where we recorded and released a compilation called The Struggle Entertainment Signature Album, which effectively fed my brand to the ghettos and burbs alike. The album's singles went to top charts on national radio and videos got heavy rotation on TV. I later spent a year pushing the Signature Album in Botswana and surrounding areas.
November 2007 saw the release of my 4 track EP, Almost Famous, as a prelude to my forthcoming debut album Coverboy, which will be released in 2008. The EP did better than any of my team had expected Thanks for all the support and love. Hope you all enjoy the album... by the way, everybody in Botswana can get a free version of Almost Famous EP Reloaded with the purchase of a Coverboy T-shirt which will be for sale at Mafia Soul starting October (in the summer baby!).
