Alternative singer/songwriter Marc Shipley premiered on the Columbia Music scene in mid-1996 when he won the first ever WARQ Rock 93.5 Acoustic Challenge. This only 3 years after picking up the guitar for the first time. With no formal training, he used his influences to learn by. Sitting in front of a CD player with Toad the Wet Sprocket, Tonic, Radiohead, Duncan Sheik and others blaring through the speakers, he fined tuned his ability. After a few years doing acoustic shows, he joined friend Jeff Bernagozzi to form an acoustic duo. They later created the band Five Minute Major which technically faded out into the sunset in early '07. 5MM released a 5 song EP in 1999 entitled "Walk Away" which contained all Marc Shipley originals and received high local praise. Marc has currently started working with "The Starseed Project" as of February 2007. The Starseed Project has since recorded a 7 song EP that is availible online. The band is currently gigging in the southeast and has played with acts like SafetySuit and Drivin N' Cryin.
