I was born in L.A., went to high school in Columbus, Ohio, college at Washington University in St. Louis, and now I have live in Miami, Florida. My passions are traveling (I've been to 25 countries), having new experiences, and meeting new people. Since I graduated from college, I have taught English in Brazil, worked as an Americorps member helping to resettle refugees in South Florida, and started a branch of an organization called AIESEC at UM that helps students do internships in other countries. Now, after graduating from FIU with a Master's in Finance/Real Estate, I do financial administration for a non profit and residential real estate. I also used to be pretty dedicated to capoeira (Brazilian martial arts). If anything I mentioned here interests you, shoot me a line and I will get back to you.
Welcome to Miami!!!
Chorus of MIAMI by WILL SMITH
Party in the city where the heat is on
All night on the beach till the break of dawn
Welcome to Miami (Bienvenidos a Miami)
Bouncing in the club where the heat is on
All night on the beach till the break of dawn
I'm going to Miami
Welcome to Miami!!
Capoeira and Brazil
Capoeira is a Brazilian form of combat with dance-like movements adapted by African slaves to fight oppression. Many believe it was developed this way to be disguised as a dance to the slave owners. There are two main styles of capoeira. One is called Angola, which is characterized by slow, low play with particular attention to the rituals and tradition of capoeira. The other style is Regional, known for its fluid acrobatic play, where technique and strategy are the key points. Capoeira originated in the state of Bahia in the North of Brazil, but now it is played throughout the country and all over the world. The country of Brazil is the fifth largest in the world with diverse regions. Pictured here is a Gaucho from the Southern region drinking chimmarao (a tea-like drink), the beaches of Florianopolis, Iguazu Falls (4 times the size of Niagra Falls) the Sugar Loaf in Rio de Janeiro, Ouro Preto (a gold mining town that has preserved its colonial architecture), and Salvador (a city rich in African history). My Travels
As I mentioned above, I love to travel and I've already been to a lot of places. All of my trips outside of the country pre-dated my ability to take digital photos, so I had to pull images off the web, except for those that come from my recent trip to Colombia. The other pictures are of places I visited that had a special impact on me - Australia and New Zealand (it was my first real trip out of the country) Israel, Chile (I studied abroad there for a semester my junior year), and Bolivia and Peru (Traveling there was one of the most challenging things I ever did).
