Suture Navigator Ensemble

About Me

The Suture is now. The past never existed. The tracks are raw mixes of part of Suture Navigator Live 2007/2008 material.SUTURE NAVIGATOR hate being pigeonholed but sometimes to make their lives easier they use the fancy sounding names of contemporary genres such as illbient, abstract ambient and such to use words to describe what kind of music they produce. Suture Navigator Ensemble do not associate themselves with any of them though, honestly believing that names like those can be misleading and there is no point in tagging contemporary music in such a way. Writing about music is like dancing about architecture is a quote that underlies the project members’ attitude to making such descriptions. They say they make music that they like listening to, that is soothing, atmospheric and quirky. Soundscapes for one’s messed up and tired mind. To produce their dense and haunting soundscapes they use vintage digital sound processors, reel2reel tape recorders, old radio receivers and some more modern electronic equipment plus the violin and flutes, whose sound is mangled beyond recognition for the listener’s pleasure. Occasional studio vocal performances are courtesy of NEL, who is also the person responsible for the visual material.Suture Navigator is first of all a live project, but a lot of muzak is being recorded to be released in the nearest future that is when the members are done with some other pressing matters. Suture Navigator come from Wroclaw, Poland and are now a foursome, yet a lot may change in the future as it has been operating as an ‘open’ project, meaning that the line-up is constantly evolving.Suture Navigator Live so far:09/19/2008 – Modjeska Theatre, Legnica – Intermediale Festival09/13/2008 – Szperek Club, Antonin – Temple of Silence Festival IV05/23/2008 – OPT, Wroclaw05/10/2008 – CRK, Wroclaw – Noise Devastation 311/02/2007 – Pegaz Club, Boleslawiec – Ambient Collage06/29/2007 – Browar Mieszczanski, Wroclaw – Fotospace Festival02/24/2007 – Firlej, Wroclaw – Industrial Art Gallery birthday partySuture Navigator live, Wroclaw, June 29th 2007
