Making lots of noises since a wee child, music has been a principal interest for almost as long as I can remember. After many years of banging on pots and kettles I turned to the guitar, wich I still regard as my main instrument. During the years I’ve aquired a severe mania for collecting various sound-producing devices, some common, some a little bit more obscure, so nowadays my guitars live side by side with, among others of my darlings: thai khaens, a west african kora and a hawaiian xaphoon, quirky synthezisers and keyboards, an assortment of flutes, whistles and recorders, a melodica, a banjo, a bouzouki, a violin, an accordion, an ukelele, a balalajka, lots of percussion and a bunch of other stuff as well.Monogatari is eclectic instrumental music with influences ranging from Ennio Morricone to J. S. Bach, to Ali Farka Touré, to Philemon Arthur and the Dung, to Brian Eno, to Captain Beefheart, to Ernesto Cavour, to Jan Johansson, to Isan Slété, to Angelo Badalamenti, to the Tetris Theme. It’s not as if anything goes, no sir, but a lot. I’m no purist, but I guess that you got that allready. So far Monogatari have released one album, It may have seemed like a sign of hope that the birds followed them out into the vastness of the open sea. It is available for purchase at RundgÃ¥ng in Malmö, or you could send me a message and we’ll arange something.
