WHY DONT YOU JUST CALL ME BY NEIL SMITH AND HONOR WATSON
I am also part of a band called Grapevine, we dont play very often as we are all busy with our lives both musical and on the home front. A friend and I put the band together in 06, and we played as a 6 piece group, keeping alive the motown sound for a good solid year in Dundee. During this time we also wrote some originals. We were very lucky to have 6 not only talented people in the group, but also reliable. Along the way we met Neil Smith, Neil used to play in the John Evans band 66' (who later went onto become Jethro Tull) Neil recently unveiled some of their earliest recordings, which received press attention from Record collector magazine. Neil is a rare find with a unique sound, and I was fortunate enough to colaborate with him on one particular song featured in this video clip. Its called WHY DONT YOU JUST CALL ME?, Neil wrote the music and I wrote the lyrics. This is a live recording of us performing at Yates bar during the blues bonanza weekend in 2007 in Dundee. Grapevine together produced and performed several other brand new tracks, and they will be appearing on my 2nd album which is being recorded at present. Thankfully all of the original members are happy to play on the album, ive still got a few to check tho! On my juke box, is a recording of the accoustic version of the track, WHY DONT YOU JUST CALL ME? The recording is much finer in comparison to this live version. Hope you enjoy. H x
