LEESHA..Still holdin down STREET SOUND(no shaggs)!

Qualeesha "Leesha" Williams is a young lady that was born in the Bronx, and raised in the Long Island City section of Queens. Trying to make it in the hip hop game even though she was around so much negativity but as you can see she is not letting it put her down at all. Growing up in the NYC Housing developments, sharing a small room with her older brother she became interested in Hip Hop music. Hearing her brother rhyme all the time motivated her to want to learn how to do the same " I always seen my brother rhyming crazy with sick flows i thought to myself... wow how do he do that." Eager to learn she started studying her brother and the music he played. Artists such as Nas, and Jadakiss helped her understand different flows and tactics. At the age 11 she watched Smack DVD's and started seeing the hip hop game in more of a realistic view. Not really liking the new school "rap" lyrics she just studied their flow. In Junior High School she would write simple rhymes just to get through the day. While moving along in Junior High Leesha started hanging outside more and seen the older guys from her neighborhood rhyming and shooting videos right around where she lived. Being outside so much caused her to get into trouble and be around a lot of negative people. A lot of things started falling due to her negative attitude. As Leesha was finishing Junior High she began to loose her parents and family trust. Frustrated at the world Leesha wrote to make the day move by faster. When her family heard that she rhyme they did not believe her " I told my mother and father i rhymed and they told me "no you dont you probably took your brother rhyme book and copied his verses." Upset by their reaction, she started to think she should stop. Once people in her neighborhood started finding out she rhyme they started doubting her. That only made her go home and write, and write, and write. Meeting people online she started battling them over the internet "keystyling". Winning some and loosing some she decided that "keystyling" over the internet was not something she enjoyed anymore. Just starting High School and still getting into trouble doing the wrong things, one day her brother came into the house and gave her a flier for a mini show in the Ravenswood Community Center. Once she got to the Center and watched the show which was young kids around her age performing their music such as hip-hop, r&b, and reggaeton she became interested in joining the program. From there they worked on bar counting (which she already knew), song formatting, and song writing. From the program she met artist such as Why-G?, NOIslam, and Homeboy Sandman. They were her mentors and taught her a lot. Over the process of 4 months she recorded her first full song in a studio "Lifes Trife" and done 4 shows which included a homeless shelter in the Bronx, a show at Bruckner Bar & Grill in the Bronx and a kick off show for the new season of the program she attend which is called the Optimus Academy located in Ravenswood Community Center. In addition to that becoming close with one of her mentors Why-G? she was invited to do a open mic at Bar Sputnik in Brooklyn. Why-G? showed her a lot of things and gave her all of his writing tactics. Not only music did Why-G? help her in, he teaches her the sciences and keep her out of trouble along with all the other mentors. Seeing each other progress in they music and in life they will always work together. Here is Leesha now, still working on her music and still being tight with her mentor and close friend Why-G? and the whole Optimus crew. During the time she is on Mypsace she will be posting up new songs.Leesha is trying to start off small and eventually she will become BIG "if its meant to be". As she say in one of her remixes to Touch It "You got to start off small before you become big" and that is exactly what she is doing. She hopes soon people will start hearing about her.
