We are Joe and Tom and Tom and Alec, and collectively we are The Lapels. We like all kinds of music but particularly that period known as the 60's. We've been gigging some bluesy -garage - pop songs across Cardiff, and recieved some warm praise - comparisons with bands from the Nuggets record label and garage acts like Thee Cybermen have been massively encouraging.
Highlights so far have been playing infront of a crowd of heavy metal fans in Birmingham, onstage mispronounciations, broken guitars, venues threatening to abandon gigs after realising the sheer volume of the band, French people surrendering, blood, sweat, tears (obviously), a bubble machine, almost a city scape, and more seriously the oppourtunity to play with acts like Thee (ledgendary) Cybermen, The Toy Band, Cheggs (sort of) and other likeminded bands in Cardiff.
Our recorded output is currently limited to a fatefull weekend in Birmingham sometime earlier in 2007. Despite the injustice of these recordings, The Lapels continue the battle against chavs, new rave and heavy metal in a live format that is becoming increasingly unmissable.
