Gator Ryan Band

About Me

Somewhere in Fort Worth, Texas, there is a smoke filled room that is erupting right now with laughter, soul, and music that is true to Texas form. In this room you, you might hear the band warm-up with a Metallica riff followed by a George Jones classic, and so goes the ways of the Gator Ryan Band. "Diversity makes life tolerable," Ryan exclaims from the corner of the room tucked under his acoustic guitar. The drumsticks slam down and from behind the skins, Jimmy D belts out, "Is that so Rockstar, then why can't you hit the 4th octave!" The room erupts in laughter and you can feel the sparks of friendship, originality, and talents engulf the room. From behind his wine glass, Trey Mac reels everybody back in and gets them focused. The rest of the band is oblivious to the fact that Trey Mac has hit the record button, and he chuckles at his secret, knowing that at any moment he will have captured a great bloopers moment. Sure enough, from the depths of the toilet room, Bobby welts out his drunken rendition of Hootie and the Blowfish while urinating. All along, Trey Mac's genius incognito. Break time is officially over, and now the 5th and 6th member of the band, Jack Daniels and Keystone Light, is propped up against an amp like a fallen soldier, gone but not forgotten. At first, one might think that the room is mayhem in the making, but there is a method behind the madness of the GRB. There is a fine balance between controlling the chaos and unleashing it. Somehow, someway they find the balance, and with smiles on their faces. As dawn breaks the silence, the anticipation of the GRB's debut album “Redemption” grows closer. Their fans flood the http://www.myspace.com/gatorryanmusic and www.gatorryanband.com sites asking for news and updates. This is what drives the band to put the hours in, not for money or fame, but for the sanctity and love for the music that will surely reach the hearts and souls of the fans. The Gator Ryan Band built its audience up by reaching into their souls and saying something. The GRB's belief is that life, both good and bad, needs to be encapsulated and broken down to its lowest part, and then placed within a song. Their formula is honest and simple, and as Ryan explains, “We just play what we feel, good or bad.”That’s particularly true in the new album, “Redemption”, where there are 10 intense tracks that will take you on a roller coaster of enjoyment and emotional satisfaction. Each song on the album tells a story, and it takes you back to that place where nothing else matters but the music.“Every song we write, we lived. We either thrived, survived, or screwed up...for me, I’ve done mostly the latter. Our songs hit home and are definitely relatable to many different life situations that we have all gone through in the past or will go through in the future. Life is what it is, and it's a wonderful muse for music." Ryan says.Through their music, the Gator Ryan Band opens up their souls and spills out what encapsulates dedication and passion, truth and consequences, love and pain, life and death. The journey begins now, and the road chosen goes through redemption.
