About Me

Becky trained at Trinity College of Music, London and left in 2002 with a 2:1 degree in Classical Music. Whilst she was there she studied Timpani & Percussion (under John Chimes and Kevin Nutty of the BBC Symphony Orchestra), Singing and Piano.

In 2003, after graduating from Trinity, she fulfilled one of her life ambitions by joining the cast of Stomp! (the international dance and percussion show) after succeeding in an open audition of over 1000 people. She was in both the West End and European Cast, and toured extensively in England, Ireland, Germany, Holland, Austria, Portugal and Belguim with numerous TV and press appearances.

Upon leaving the show in 2005 she joined the global dance music band, Orchid Star. Represented by Archangel Management (www.archangelmanagement.co.uk) under Bruce Elliot-Smith, Orchid-Star have signed a record deal with Liquid Sound Design, (with the well known producer Youth). Their debut album, The Birth of the Orchid-Star, was released in Feb 2008 and their debut single, 'Passion' in Oct 2008. They have played at many festivals (Glastonbury/Big Green Gathering/Sunrise/Waveform/Kingston Green Fair) and clubs (Planet Angel/491 Gallery/Synergy Project @ SEOne/Synergy Centre.

Whilst remaining good friends with the band, she left being a full time member at the end of 2007 and is now pursuing new projects.

Becky occasionally plays in the piano and vocal duo Skarlet Sky, privately teaches music in Blackheath, does session work, and dabbles at music production. The latest track she has worked on in the studio is the remix of an Orchid-Star track 'Passion' with producers Sly One and Jurrane, out now on Archangel Records.

She also recorded the music for the BBC1 hit prime time show Vet Safari (broadcast 2006) and has performed at numerous high profile venues and events, including performing for HRH Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey, the Royal Opera House and St. John's, Smith Square. in 2007 she sung with the New London Chamber Choir at their acclaimed run of performances with the Michael Clark Company at the Barbican Centre. She has also sung with Voce in their 2007 Christmas concert.

Becky is very involved with Planet Angel, a not-for-profit entertainment organisation, both as a performer and event manager (www.planetangel.net), and is a committed environmentalist. She lives in Blackheath, London
