About Me

WHO WOULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED THAT SHE....? OF ALL PEOPLE?Of all people...that this little girl who's life was hell at school because of bullying about her eyes, that little girl who grew up frightened, with low self-esteem, that little girl who had loneliness as a constant friend, that little girl whom satan tried constantly at each stage of her life to destroy, that same little girl who always saw herself a nobody and inferior to others...would ever reach thus far? surely her life testifies of what the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 1:26-27. "Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong."

She never thought that she would ever sing , let alone sing..for God. However, having grew up from a musical background she learnt a little guitar from one of her uncle at 14 and began composing wordly songs at 15. A passion for God persistently developed and though she had not known God as her personal Savior yet her heart just wanted God. In 1997 while she studied at the National Youth Service (NYS) she wrote 2 Gospel songs...And 2 years later through terible life-challenges she got saved...joined the choir...promoted as a worship leader...In March 2006 she publicly released her first song (Miray Zeriko/Wall of Jericho) that was recorded in Kenya in November 2005. The song was and is ever an unexpected hit in Seychelles (her home country).Late 2006 she released a duo album with a young Kenyan singer with the title 'BE GLORIFIED'. At the age of 27 soon in July, Vero who constantly receives new songs even in her dreams says that 'there's much more in store' and that she is trusting God for the unexpected and the 'never-seen-and-heard-before '. "...he hath put a NEW SONG in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD." Psalms 40:3 ... Speaking to Nation Wednesday April 12, she said that the theme of the song is taken from the Bible..s book of Joshua from chapter 5:13 to 6:21, which describes how David defeated Goliath and talks about the crushing down of walls, symbolising how a person can overcome obstacles in his or her life with God..s help. ..The song was inspired by many problems I was going through in my earlier life, which only God could have, and did take me out of,.. the born-again Christian said, adding that Miray Zeriko is available as a single on CD selling at R45, and contains a five-minute part with encouragement explaining the origins of the song. "As children of God, we must not fail to use the authority we have been granted by God,.. she said. Veronique takes no credit for the work, and although she thanks her parents, work colleagues, husband, and fellow Redeemed Christian Church of God members, she says that only by the power of God did the song, that was recorded in east Africa, came out so strongly. ..This is only the beginning. By the grace of God....Christians who know the humble, jocular and cheerful Vero say that once she gets on the stage ..the power of the Holy Spirit seems to transform her into some form of superstar for the Creator... She said that after she was featured on FM radio , she received a flood of text messages and calls of congratulations, and thanked all those who have supported her new work.'

One of Vero..s desire is to come across Christians and Gospel artists with only one desire..to live for God and fulfill His plans for their lives according to Jeremiah 29:11. People who will sing to and for God with their whole being. People who'll have God and His gospel @ heart. ..I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings...1 Corinthians 9:23. People who at their last breath will say, like Apostle Paul "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7. She humbly encourages other artists with these words..The God who has called you will carry you in His palms as you as you fulfill His will in declaring His praises; Johua 1:1-9. "After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, the LORD said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses' aide: 2 "Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them..to the Israelites. 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 4 Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates..all the Hittite country..to the Great Sea [a] on the west. 5 No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. 6 "Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. 7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." I give Him the glory for what He has placed into your mouth, hands, heart and life, so far...And guess what? There's much more where that came from. "And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD." Psalm 40:3. His resources are unlimited. In the name of Jesus you shall fulfill the reason that he sent you to accomplish on planet earth. The Call of Jeremiah is your own (Jeremiah 1:4-10 " The word of the LORD came to me, saying, 5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew [a] you, before you were born I set you apart; appointed you as a prophet to the nations." 6 "Ah, Sovereign LORD," I said, "I do not know how to speak; I am only a child." 7 But the LORD said to me, "Do not say, 'I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD. 9 Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, "Now, I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant." "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11. Afterwards you shall say like Paul: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7. A last blessing and advice from 2 Chronicles 29:11."My sons, do not neglect your duties any longer! The Lord has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him, and to lead the people in worship and present offerings to him...(NLT). Fear not. Give Him your best and He will return His best to you. When asked what would be her greatest achievement Vero says... 'being able to die knowing that i've fulfilled the very purpose for which God sent me down here.'

"HE HAS PUT A NEW SONG INTO MY MOUTH, A SONG OF PRAISE UNTO OUR GOD; MANY WILL SEE AND FEAR AND WILL TRUST IN THE LORD." PSALM 40:3 ("Il a mis dans ma bouche un cantique nouveau, un hymne de louanges pour chanter notre Dieu. Quand ils verront ce qu'il a fait, beaucoup voudront r..v..rer l'Eternel et lui faire confiance.")Veronique explains "I used to think that Jesus was just one story hero. I had heard so many times that He was the son of God and died on a cross to save the sin of the world. I could have quoted all that by heart but I never really understood what this was all about. When they say from John 3:16 that 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life...' I pictured that 'world' as the physical surrounding, hills, mountain, countries at war...others but it never occured to me that the world meant "me", a human, mind soul, body, spirit and flesh. I did not even understand why I needed Him. I did not even understand why He wanted to die for the world nor me. They said because of our sin (estrangement from God, disobedience to His will)...but since I was born I had seen the world as evil as it was and thought it was normal. I thought I was ok and perfect. I didn't think I had any other need apart from wealth, food, shelter, sex, drug, alcohol, partying, friends, my pets. In fact I used to be one of those people who thought that those born-again, noise-making people were weird and crazy..and I despised them with all of my heart like Saul. (Acts 9:1-19). I was very proud of who I was, full, satisfied...why did I need Jesus......Helas! I began to discover why very early in my childhood even if I was still too proud to admit it. I learnt first of all, very early at the age of 7 for 10 years that THE WORLD WAS NOT MY FRIEND OR THAT IT HATED ME. I suffered terrible bullying at school that affected me seriously morally, emotionally to the point that I wanted to put a full stop to my life. I grew up in fear, lonely, rejected, with low self-esteem. I even contemplated suicide more than once. As I grew up difficulties and unimaginable challenges rose up and I began to understand that my world around me could not help me and did not love me. It's not easy for one to understand the trauma I was in. There are some emotional chains I was only set free from when I got to know that Jesus in 1999. If I did not surrender my life to the one who knew me before I was born (Jeremiah 1:5), To the one who loved me, To the one who died for me to give me peace, joy and eternal life..that would have been the end of me. I CANNOT BOAST in any other thing and anyone else. I know where I come from. I know how far I come from. I alone knows the 'hell' I went through and I can testify that Jesus did to me what only Him could. He didn't just hang on a wooden cross. Their is a spiritual aspect to what He did. Just like you can't see the wind because it is spiritual and invisible but you feel it. So the act of Jesus is spiritual. He went beyond a cross. He went where my peace of mind, my joy, my life had been taken captive by the spiritual enemy (Satan) and gave them back to me. Somebody who thinks that all is ok with Him or her and that s/he does not need God is in serious trouble even if they don't believe it. I am a product of Jesus's love, sacrifice, healing power. Knowing Jesus is a restoration of what Adam and Eve lost to Satan. Jesus came to correct the mistake they made...and I was a product of that mistake. All I have is because of Him, emotionally, physically, spiritually...everything. That's also why I sing to Him, for Him, with Him. Often people look at my musical success, the power in those songs, they want to be my friend, to associate with me but they don't want my Jesus. Like I clearly made someone understand recently that...I am all I am, I have what I have, I do what I do and I am where I am because of Jesus. I am a product of Jesus. If you want me you'll have to accept my Jesus because we are inseparably 2 in 1. I gave Him my life, He has the final say. Take me or leave me but I will not deny my Jesus. The day I reject Jesus would be the end of who I am. God forbid! Realising that you need Jesus is a life-changing decision. It costed me my pride but I found peace and Joy when I said “Lord Jesus Christ, I know you died on the cross for my sins and I want you to be the Lord of my life; now and forever in heaven. I’m sorry for the ways I’ve sinned against you and for my selfish way of living. Please forgive me. Please Lord, come into my life now as my Saviour. Wash me clean, fill me with your Spirit; and now with your help, I will learn to love and obey you as Lord of my life. Thank you for forgiving me and bringing me back to God. Amen.” " You need Jesus why? Firstly ...... Because you have a past. You can’t go back, but Jesus can. The Bible says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8.) He can go back into those places of sin and failure and bring forgiveness. He can wipe the slate clean and give you a new beginning. Secondly ..... Because you need a friend. Jesus knows the worst about you, yet He believes the best. Why? Because He sees you not as you are, but as you will be when he is finished with you. What a friend. Thirdly ...... Because He holds the future. Who else are you going to trust? In His hands you are safe and secure – today, tomorrow, and for all eternity. His Word says; “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray I will listen.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13) If you would like to begin a new future today, let me encourage you to invite Jesus to be the Lord of your life by praying the following prayer. “Lord Jesus Christ, I know you died on the cross for my sins and I want you to be the Lord of my life; now and forever in heaven. Amen.” With that Veronique added...'now you know my secret'.VERONIQUE IS A NATIVE OF THE SEYCHELLES ISLAND ( )....

..The Republic of Seychelles comprises 115 islands occupying a land area of 455 km² and an Exclusive Economic Zone of 1.4 million km² in the western Indian Ocean. It represents an archipelago of legendary beauty that extends from between 4 and 10 degrees south of the equator and which lies between 480km and 1,600km from the east coast of Africa.Of these 115 islands, 41 constitute the oldest mid-oceanic granite islands on earth while a further 74 form the low-lying coral atolls and reef islands of the Outer Islands. The granitic islands of the Seychelles archipelago cluster around the main island of Mah.., home to the international airport and the capital, Victoria, and its satellites Praslin and La Digue. Together, these Inner Islands form the cultural and economic hub of the nation and contain the majority of Seychelles.. tourism facilities as well as its most stunning beaches. The Seychelles are the oldest islands on earth and the inner islands of the Seychelles are also the world’s only granitic ocean islands. All other ocean islands are made of coralline or volcanic matter. The islands can be divided into two main kinds: the inner (or granitic islands) and the outer islands, which include the Amirantes, the Alphonse Group, the Aldabra Group and the Farquhar Group.THE SEYCHELLOIS PEOPLE The Seychelles had no original native population. It is thought that Polynesian and Arab explorers may have been in the area as early at the third century but they did not settle there. The first recorded British landing in 1609 on one of the islands does not mention any people. The islands were colonised, albeit slowly, in the 18th century by the French who were aggressively trying to find a quicker and safer route to the east. They brought slaves from East Africa to work on plantations. Colonial government censuses used to group people by ethnic origin, but after 1911 it was decided that this practice was no longer possible or practical. Today there are an estimated 81,000 Seychellois and they are a mixed nation. Most of them are Creoles descended from the early French settlers, African and Southeast Asian slaves. The rest are descendents of Arab and Chinese immigrants who arrived later in the 19th century. These different people brought their religions and customs with them, and many of these have been retained. The population is predominantly Roman Catholic, with a small Muslim and Hindu population. Culture Their culture is a mixture of French and traditional African. Young Seychellois tend to look to the West, rather than Africa or Asia, for their cultural influences. Their pop–culture is more European than African. That said, Seychellois’ culture is still vastly different to what you would see in European cities, and African-type superstitions abound. Nearly 90% of the population dwell on the main island, Mahe, with the rest of the population scattered across the smaller islands, some of which are still uninhabited. Most people live simple and unsophisticated island lives. The Seychellois are extremely hospitable. Shaking hands is the customary form of greeting. Casual wear is essential, formal clothes are only worn by churchgoers and swimwear should only be worn on the beach. Music and dance is popular in the Seychelles. The moutia is the typical dance with strong African and Malagasy rhythms, and everyone is encouraged to join in. seyc The Seychelles’ chief attractions are most certainly their pristine island beaches and access to some of the best protected marine areas in the world. Diving or snorkelling here is like swimming in a giant aquarium. The Seychelles are also surrounded by incredibly rich fishing grounds. The flora and fauna of the islands are unique, isolated to evolve on their own and largely saved from depredation. You can see the world’s largest population of giant tortoise (on Aldabra) and some of the rarest birds and plants in the world.
"AH, SOVEREIGN LORD," I SAID, "I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO SPEAK; I AM ONLY A CHILD." BUT THE LORD SAID TO ME, "DO NOT SAY, 'I AM ONLY A CHILD.' YOU MUST GO TO EVERYONE I SEND YOU TO AND SAY WHATEVER I COMMAND YOU. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THEM, FOR I AM WITH YOU AND WILL RESCUE YOU," DECLARES THE LORD. THEN THE LORD REACHED OUT HIS HAND AND TOUCHED MY MOUTH AND SAID TO ME, "NOW, I HAVE PUT MY WORDS IN YOUR MOUTH. (JEREMIAH 1:6-9). Vero has an unuasual passion for children. In many of her performances (like featured in video below) you will often find a company of kids or youths at her side...'Children are valuable treasures of tomorrow, mighty weapons for the glory of God, so as many opportunities as I get to add to their life, I do it...' 'I'm humbled at the way they look up to me as a 'star', they just cling to me like flies (lol). so I give them opportunities to perform for God by my side so that they will undertsand that i'm only where I am because of that God. I'll do my best to play my role in ensuring that I invest God in their lives. "Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it. "Proverbs 22:6. Wherever i'm around them I forget about myself completely and this is beyond me' added Veronique humbly. 'If I can avoid it i'll do my best to keep a child or youth from going through what I went through as a child. If their childhood is affected, you can expect the same for their future-God forbid!'
