Formed in 1999, Loose Change is a San Francisco based dance company that draws its artistic inspiration from a variety of different forms of movement including hip hop, martial arts, lindy hop, tap, b-boying, african and modern. In addition to highlighting and melding these unique styles of dance the group aims to use its work to inspire and provoke as well as entertain. Since its inception the group’s work has been featured annually at the San Francisco Hip Hop Festival and at other dance shows and festivals in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Eric Fenn, the company’s primary choreographer, has been a fixture in the Bay Area dance scene for the past ten years. He was the founding artistic director of the hip hop group, San Francisco Culture Shock, and he has been a popular teacher of dance locally and in studios throughout the U.S. and Europe.
