With a love and zeal for music, Minister Darnel Kenerson Sr., (affectionatley known as Nookey), was born in Chicago, Illinois August 24, 1971. Darnels' attraction to music began as a toddler. He was introduced to Gospel Music as his mother, Evangelist Denise Kenerson traveleld from city-to-city singing Gods' praises with Darnel at her side. The gift of music was birthed and excercised in Darnel as he sang and directed his church choir at the tender age of four(4). Music has always had the attention of Darnel as he transitioned from a young boy to a young man. He began to develop a love for instrumental expression as he aspired to become a drummer at the age of eight(8). While excercising his musical aspirations, Darnel attended Chicago State University where he studied Music Education. Chicago State University, exposed Darnel to new cultures of music. This musical diversity would assist in the development of his unique style of vocal execution that is undescribable. His God given gift of singing, songwriting and arranging exemplifies his passion and intimate relationship with God. Today, Minister Darnel Kenerson Sr., is a proud member of the ministerial staff of the St. James Ministries COGIC under the leadership of the awesome Elder Dr. W. James Campbell, he also sings in the choir and on the praise and worship team at St. James. Darnel is a true worshipper; and the anointing that is upon his life, his preaching ministry and his singing has the ability to soothe hearts and change lives.
