NEX LEV ARTIST BIOGRAPHYNex Lev is an artist intent on raising the standard of reggae music on the international stage. The name Nex Lev is short for the phrase “Next Level” as in “Rising to the next level”, “elevating oneself or people”, “making progress”, etc. His genre of music is reggae with all the influences that musically evolved in today’s dancehall to the original culture , roots, sca and mento. Nex was born in Kingston, Jamaica where he lived through the 80s and early 90s being influenced by all the great music pumping in the sound system culture of the time. In 1996 he migrated to the USA where he now resides in Brooklyn NY. This is where the international take on the music became a passion for the young inspired artist. With his own state of the arts recording studio he has developed musically into a great lyricist and record producer.Nex Lev is set to do great works in the music industry today and for a long career going forward. At present, he has his debut single, “Answer Jah”, creating a lot of buzz on the internet both locally and internationally. The song is featuring Koalishan crew member Maad Indian singing while next drops fantastic lyrics with an exceptional flow reminding you of reggae DJ style of Daddy U-Roy and hip hop flows of the platinum Brooklyn rapper Fabolous. Nex and Indian have been performing this song at colleges,festivals and barbeques and it is igniting quite a lot of interest in his talents. DJs have been requesting specials of the song and international radio stations have been requesting the press kit and requesting dubs of this and other records. The official release date of this record is on schedule for October 09.Nex Lev works alongside other artists such as Maad Indian, Ina Strength and Guidance B to name a few. He works with a myriad of produces from the New York area, like Bananas,Unleash, Jan I and Ghost production who did the Answer Jah track. The Answer Jah record was mixed by Jan I from LI. The debut single is a perfect introduction of this artist to the world, showing off his production,writing and collaborating skills. The self title CD is in progress for early 2010 completion.
