Zoona

Introducing Zoona: A collaboration between brothers Wayne and Sean Declase, who since they could walk and talk have been surrounded by music. They were educated via the classics, with The Beatles, Chuck Berry and many other rock and even country luminaries shaping their maturing as musicians.
With their musical love affair in full swing, the boys enlisted the help of cousins Chad and Brad to form the band Declase, with Sean and Wayne on vocals, guitars and keys, while Chad and Brad held down the drums and bass guitar. This continued the tradition of keeping the musical journey in the family just like their fathers, and was the point where the Zoona boys really started to progress and open up as songwriters. While Declase was mainly a full force club band renowned for their energetic stage performances (and along the way playing at gigs at the Forum and on Rove Live backing Destiny’s Child songstress Kelly Rowland), behind the scenes a mountain of material was piling up as Sean and Wayne started writing originals in earnest.
And now with the birth of Zoona. Their ethos is simple: To write the type of music they love, regardless of commercial appeal on genre. The aim is to stay true to themselves and each other with the music they make.
And finally, what’s with the name? “Zoona was the name of our late Grandfathers dog. Using this name is an acknowledgment to our family, although they are not up on stage with us contributing to the music, they have contributed to our development as musicians.”
