Please bare with us as Bobby's myspace changes (probably changes a lot) as he is signing with Mesa-Bluemoon/Universal!! Bobby has always appreciated his fans, and this time your support will launch him to new heights! Originally from Brownwood, Texas, and raised all of his life on country music, Bobby Chitwood knows what country is all about, and how all music affects the soul. Bobby has been raised on Merle Haggard, Hank Sr., Willie Nelson and many other traditional style artists, but Bobby has also idolized the styles of many southern rock bands such as Skynyrd and others of the like. Combine these two, and that will give you Bobby's traditional yet edgy sound.
Song writing has been in the family, and stems mostly from his grandfather, Emmett Royce Larkin. Bobby's grandfather was a respected Christian singer/songwriter who also dabbled in country. Bobby Chitwood has been writing since he was 12 and has continued to grow as a songwriter, singer and performer.
Bobby has been in the country music scene since he was a teenager, and continues with it a decade later. His talent has earned him the respect of major artists and concert promoters. Bobby Chitwood has played shows with Robert Earl Keen, David Alan Coe, Perfect Stranger, Joe Diffie, Diamond Rio, headlined at Texas Motor Speedway, and was invited to open for Toby Keith. Bobby Chitwood has toured all of Texas and much of the Midwest from Texas to Montana and in between. Currently Bobby tours with arguably the top musicians in the nation. The Band that backs Bobby are second to none and have collectively or separately played for such dignitaries as Vice President Dick Cheney, Senator Alan Simpson and many other highly regarded individuals in the USA and the World; not to mention all of the major acts Bobby's band have worked with. They have also toured most of their lives and played with well known national artists, and have shared the stage with many big acts.
Bobby Chitwood enjoyed the nationwide release of his first single "My Name's Ronnie" with praise from Music Row, and charting in New Music Weekly. Bobby's sophomore single "Women Ain't So Hard to Understand" hit radio in April 2007 and turned the heads of Music Row once again. Bobby's own "Live For the Moment" made top 50 on national charts in the summer of 2007! Just recently, Bobby Chitwood has committed to a deal with Mesa-Bluemoon/Universal!! A new single is expected to hit radio in April!!
