John (JD) Stefan

About Me

JD Stefan is a multi-faceted musician, songwriter and producer living near Boise, ID. He's an accomplished multi-instrumentalist (drums, electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar, keys, vocals, percussion and a wee bit of trumpet), seasoned performer and self-described "studio rat".
In 1994 JD released "Higher Ground", a successful instrumental offering produced for The Nature Company and as a member of Dart (former Che' Records recording artist) he contributed drums, guitar and keyboards to the band's full-length disc "10 Cents an Hour" as well as 2 singles and an EP.
His own band Overcurve played for several years in the Bay Area and JD guided the group to 2 independent CD releases ("Overcurve" and "Tilt"). JD also re-issued his former Nature Company recording under the new title "Elevations". In 2006, JD released a solo effort titled "Soul Divided".
JD's musical stylings are certainly diverse. Although he typically favors a guitar-driven approach, there's always a strong rhythmic element in his compositions and lots of textures. There's a hint of his progressive roots tempered by a healthy dose of pop sensibility.
