About Me

Hi my name is Chris Hurst. I've been an Aircraft Handler in the Royal Navy (RN) for 21 years so far. That means I work on aircraft carrier flight decks when based at sea, and work for the Royal Navy's Fire & Rescue Service ashore. For the last few years i've been an instructor at the Royal Naval School of Flight Deck Operations, but I've just taken over as the watch manager of C Crew at RNAS YEOVILTON fire station in Somerset.I'm a member of the RN Motor Cycle club and ride a Suzuki GSF 600 Bandit S. I'm a big fan of the US rock group KISS. I come from Littlehampton in West Sussex, which is where all my best friends are. I'm divorced, but I have two great daughters named Jennifer & Emily who live with thier mother near Boston in Lincolshire. I live in a lovely village called Ilchester in Somerset with Christine. We have 3 cats called Lucky, Jasmine & Barney. Alas poor Twiggy died last year.

Music:

I love KISS, Queen, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Guns n' Roses, ACDC & Pink Floyd. I love rock music in general but I also appreciate music in any genre. Can't beat a bit of Elvis or Neil Diamond.

Movies:

Historical epics, spine chilling horrors, outlandish comedies like Borat, and of course, anything naval. I love a good sunday afternoon war film.

Television:

I love the discovery channels and I'm a big fan of the motorcycle programs in particular. I love documentaries and love to learn new and interesting things. I love to watch Miami Ink. Best of all I like classic comedies.

Books:

I read autobiographies and love to read about peoples lives, especially major achievers. I find it inspiring.

Heroes:

Admiral Lord Nelson because we would all be French otherwise. Anyone that can inspire others to achieve great things. People who care enough to make a difference.
