Djem

Hello, my name is Djem van Dijk.
I was born in 1987 in Leiden (Holland), but immediately after that, I moved to Curacao. I lived there for 5 years. Here I started to love music, especially the rhythms of the Caribbean!
When I was 10 years old, I started making music on the streets of Holland. I did this with my sister ‘Niña’ and with our friend ‘Caroline Hoffman’. Later on we formed our band and called it ‘Treble'. In 2000 we signed a record deal by ‘CNR-Entertainment’.
With our own songs we made 2 albums and 4 singles. (Last album was made in LA and Hawaii with producer ‘Keith Olsen’.)
Our first single became number 1 in the charts of Holland. For 3 years we played on all the festivals, theaters and clubs. We also performed a lot in Belgium. In 2006 we represented Holland on the Eurovision Song contest in Greece.
Before this show, we toured through whole Europe, and visited 37 countries in 40 days! After this big circus we needed a little break. Niña and I started studying on the pop academy of the conservatorium in Amsterdam. Now I’m in my 4th year and I've started my own band 'Djem'. You will hear about this very soon!
