About Me

The Stingrays are led by Jonny Steinman, who has performed with such bands as Going, Going Gone, Big Al and the Alley Cats, Brave and Crazy, The Reactions and The Pep Boys. In the past few years, Jonny has found his voice as a songwriter and his original material is the heart and soul of the band.Jonny’s songs come from the heart and make every audience member feel as if they are experiencing the joy, disappointment, pain and longing Steinman writes about.Jonny and the Stingrays focus on developing an unforgettable musical experience. Their infectious blend of blues, roots and rock combined with an electric atmosphere created by their club performances has led to a strong following in the DC music scene.

Band Members: JONNY STEINMAN - Guitar, Vocals, Songwriting::Jonny has been active in the DC music scene for more than 20 years. Jonny's playing is cross between Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Chuck Berry. His songs are about life, love, loss, hope and dreams. He is a consummate performer, engaging the crowd with every tune.------------------------------------------------------- ----------MITCH MITCHELL– Bass, Vocals::Mitch has played with Billy Hancock, Going, Going, Gone and many other acts in the Mid-Atlantic area for more than 25 years. His solid style keeps the Stingrays as tight as they are loose.------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------RONNIE SMITH- Drums/Vocals:Got bit by the Rock and Roll bug at a very early age ! Has a Diploma in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. Has played all over the Mid-Atlantic region with many different bands over the last 30 years. Also, plays percussion and guitar, does studio work, and teachs drum and guitar lessons.---------------------------------------------------- Jamie MacKINNON – Saxophone, Horns, Vocals::Jamie is one of the best Rock & Roll sax players to emerge in the past 30 years. His playing is filled with power, passion, true heart and soul. Jamie has played with The Reactions, Model Prisoners, and The Soultones of Swing.
