Well, I am just a pianist who wants to be someone else......bus driver, architecture engineer or chief, maybe? But I'm stocked into the music and I can't get out. Can you help me?Here are the few words describing me. _______________________________I started to play piano when I was at the age of....Hm,I can't remember, my consciousness was too low. First thing I can remember was playing an old Serbian folk song with one finger (my father taught me that music, he is a musician too). Now I play very serious music, jazz, classical music, I am composing a lot...Not bad at all?...______________________________I never graduated high school because my piano teacher dropped me earlier to Faculty of Music in Belgrade. She (pay attention: she....because of the way of thinking) had a strange itch sensation in her butt to push me further for unreal events. But, she taught me to play piano well. Her name is ZLATA POPARIC.______________________So, I entered Faculty of Music. Before that, I obtained a few(eleven) national and international prizes, made some recordings for radio and television, played many concerts...blah,blahh,blah.... Several times I obtained scholarships for studying in America (Clivlend institute for Music, two times and some other colleges..) but I never went there. Reasons: well.....money (let me be so clear that it was the money!)....a few times, I didn’t have enough money for airplane ticket (I could have borrowed money from friends, but I didn’t do it!(?)).... and: stupidity (last time....I had a girl, I wanted to marry her...thank God, I didn’t!).____________________________ Than I stopped thinking about classical music. In fact, I stopped thinking about anything. I just watched television all day long, spending time with some terrible people, smoking and drinking a lot....acting like a fool (I had luck in my life, I never used drugs). Of course, I've been constantly out of money (my father stopped giving me the money....it was reasonable, I was 23)._____________________________So, I started to play Serbian commercial folk music or so-called "new composed music"...or turbo folk. I worked with many stars of this country. "Stars"?! ....a bunch of idiots! They made a lot of money on singing stupid songs and acting like morons.... Hey, I needed the money. I played that music for five years. That made me more depressed, more idiotic....._____________________________One day I found one man, a musician who made a great impression on me with his music which made me turn in my music thinking. His name is CORTAN. Ohh,man! What a keyboard player! I spent one year of my life trying to reach his way of thinking in music. And I did it! Off course, I am talking about fabulous keyboard player who played Serbian horrible "new-wave-folk" music! What a counteracts! Later, I found that he has the same approach to music like jazz musicians, the same idiom. JAZZ!ohhhh!!!!_____________________________In 1997 I met my colleague, a jazz pianist VASIL HADZIMANOV who gave me the book "Jazz piano book" by Mark Levine as a gift. That event changed my life forever, I think. I slept with that book under my pillow. Later, he borrowed that book from me for his students and never brought it back to me. Heheheee....And wrecked handmade sustain pedal too...Bring me back my sustain, man!__________________________After that I started to explore different kinds of harmony styles, rhythm, form and counterpoint solutions trying to implement them into my playing. Meanwhile, I made some arrangements for commercial purposes like pop albums, commercials, radio broadcast jingles, composing for theater, documentary movies, for other people who needed my music....I played with a few famous actors in their cabaret and variety shows, I played in a few television shows as a host musician, I played with a few ethno music oriented bands...and so and so.....___________________________________Now, I am doing some piano technique researching inspired by my favorite classical pianist IVO POGORELICH. A few days ago I read an interview with Ivo from 2005. In interview he said that he changed piano technique in the last decade. I wonder, what is the major change point of that? ?__________________________In these days I play CLASSICAL MUSIC again, doing a lot of music synthesis, composing, practicing with my jazz colleagues, practicing film scoring, cooking a lot of Indian food, practicing aikido....spending time with my FATHER who gave me basic inspiration and support for life and music. And with my MOTHER too! By the way, she is my hero because she is being exposed every day to my father's stupidities.__________________________________.... However, me trying to be someone else is going further. Thanks to God.....hm,or Nature?!
