Hello
My name is Johan Petersen. I'm part Danish and part Faroese and have been playing the guitar since the age of 13. At the age of 17 I started writing my own music and lyrics and started to sing as well. At the age of 20 I went on tour with the bluesband "The Chris Grey Band" later to be "The Chris Greys".
I Formed my own band at the age of 21 and put out two EP's "Reach" and "Everything's OK" under the name of Fuzzphase. Towards the end of 2006 and beginning of 2007 the band had a change in personal and musical style and therefore decided to change our bandname to a more suitable name:
"The Joules"
We played a number of concerts and then decided to break up, because we wanted to do different things. Our last show was at the Starfighter final at Skanderborg Festival (DK).
Throughout my carreer as a musician I have worked with a lot of people and artists: Thomas Bo Lønfeldt, Søren Østergaard, Jakob Høg & Jess Torp (The Joules), Chris Grey, Anders Bo, Ulrik Ågaard & Rasmus Gjerløff (The Chris Greys), René Oddgaard, (Inspectorsevenone), Jakob Dinesen (Dinojax), Søren Sunding (Ballistophonic), Ian Gregersen (Black Horse), Morten Hvid, (bunker studio) Niels Høg & René Jørgensen (Lydkraft studio), Keld Nissen (Animator) Rasmus trussel, Rasmus Nørregaard & Kristian Stærke (Lok 4), Rasmus Morgen & Kristian Hybel and many more...
Lately I have been working on writing and rehearsing material for my new songwriting project, that goes by the name "Johan" at the time. Maybe I'll change it to something more fancy later - suggestions are welcome ;-) . I've teamed up with two great musicians. Thomas Bo Lønfeldt on drums & backingvocals and Søren Østergaard on bas & backingvocals.
This project has a slightly different approach than my old ones. While Fuzzphase/The Joules was about arranging and creating new soundscapes, my new project is about writing good solid rocktunes with catchy melodies, vocal hooklines and sing-along choruses - and of course, lots of guitar!!See you out there soon ;-)
