My name's Rachel Riley
I live in Saffron Walden in Essex. Which is as not London as it is possible to be. The only celebrities who live here are the least-famous McGann brother, who was in Doctors for one episode, and Marlon out of Emmerdale. I have a little brother who is a 9 year old hobbit obsessive and who has been known to go out dressed as the Virgin Mary, a dog who habitually eats furniture, and a mum who has shares in Mr Muscle. And my Grandpa, who is in his seventies, is in love with his care worker Treena, who is 30 and from Bolton. Oh and I have a dad. He is called Colin and likes Lovejoy. Need I say more.
Things that are banned in our house:
- Ribena (purple, causing stain issues)
- Eastenders (common)
- Coronation Street (Northern and common)
- ebay (because James bought a giant Des Lynam cutout and a Will young doll off it with Grandpa’s credit card)
- QVC (similar reasons involving a 5-piece copper-bottomed Anthony Worral Thompson saucepan set)
- The OC (unrealistic image of life in a seaside community compared to Cornwall where mum grew up and where she had to wear a balaclava to school)
- Desperate Housewives (too many reasons to list)
