It was 1977, while both disco music and punk ruled the world, I started my own life's journey during a -hot as usual- italian summer. Since childhood I spent much more time on paper than playing soccer as most of other italian kids did; this could be weird in some ways (for any italian "mr. Smith"), but who cares? Painting fascinated me and I knew I wanted to do it.When I was 12 I saw for the first time at some strange paintings on a wall of my city: that was the time I met and discovered Graffiti (or much more correctly Writing), one of the most important things I've dealt with in my whole life. Being a writer has become massively for about ten years -and more- my way, it's been the reason why I passed hours and hours sketching and many nights outside on mission, getting frozen by cold weather.2001: time to push things forward. I started to feel limited about letters and spraycans. I put my whole attention to characters, evolving that figures I often painted next to my pieces. So, I began a research about lines, shapes and solid aspects of the colours, using human bodies as a message of my concepts. Now with brushes I can play on matter, which is powered by the large range of signs I can create as I put a different touch and sensibility on works. Human lines become idealized, renewed and unreal, strokes become like bones of the figure, matter turns into flesh.
I love to put my works on useless and broken items, giving them a new dimension and a new dignity. The work itself gets stronger by the eroded support.Fate a modo.
