The Heartstarters are a band of seasoned musos who came together four years ago to workshop and play the original works of singer/songwriter Jeff Jenkins.
The music is rootsy, with meaningful lyrics, and loaded with melodic pop hooks and vocal harmonies; the performances energetic and audience involving.
Formerly known as Jeff Jenkins' Late Starters, the band released two CDs &ndash real time and Songs from the shed &ndash and have played some of Melbourne's premier inner city venues &ndash The Rainbow, Cornish Arms, Nighthawk Blues, Ruby's, The Greyhound and The Duke of Windsor &ndash as well as several roots music festivals.
Now with new bassplayer John Mitting (replacing founding member Mick Wenhuda), The Heartstarters have released their third CD Amplifier which features 7 of Jeff's new songs.
The live set also features a number of great songs by artists who have influenced us over the decades &ndash Dylan, the Stones, Springsteen, Petty, the Kinks and many more.
