BIOGRAPHY: THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE GREAT!
Behind The Silence was founded in 2007 more as a hobby than a dedicated band, with a post-hardcore sound such as Saosin and Alesana. Soon enough BTS evolved its sound into a metal/hardcore style with dedicated members that had the common goal of spreading themselves in the music circuit. Starting out in the summer of 2007 good friends and vocalists Mike Cadena and George Piccot began as unknown named band. Singer Mike had brought in Guitarist/cousin Jessie Cadena. Back-up Singer George Piccot brought in his friend Andrew Mah on Bass and Ronny Pineda as second Guitarists. After a few months trying out countless drummers they had settled on Ronny's cousin, Cesar Pineda.
Once the band saw how things were getting complicated and serious the rocky road began. The time and effort to creating a band was soon irradiating on the members which lead to Jessie Cadena, Cesar Pineda, and George Piccot's departure. Ronny soon brought in close friend Nestor Estrada to cover the slot of Lead Guitar and Ronny was bumped down to rhythm. After writing a few songs with out a drummer the band knew sooner or later they would need one. Luckily one summer night during a party at bassist Andrew Mah's house a mutual friendship would lead to BTS meeting their official drummer, Amauri Segoviano. After Amauri had gone through the try-outs the band was well on its way to playing its first gig. Sadly, Nestor Estrada had quit the band one week previous to BTS' first performance. BTS was once again stuck in a rut.
Without any delay drummer Amauri Segoviano brought in new lead guitarist Noah Mendoza, who was able to learn the songs within the week previous to the band's first show. Things were settled for a few months before Bassist Andrew Mah had quit. Close friend of the band, Joshua Padilla soon filled the spot of bass. The band was complete once again and was able to balance itself while playing roughly 2 gigs a month with bands such as, HORSE the band, A Plea for Purging, and Carnifex, Enter Shakari, Blessthefall, and August Burns Red.
As anyone could guess BTS would soon lose another member. Noah Mendoza quit for undisclosed reasons, leaving the band all jumbled once again. A few weeks later Ronny Pineda left the band due to his New born child :) Congratulations to him. Not having much on the line BTS took the time to make its next actions very carefully by moving Joshua Padilla from bass to lead guitar. Still this only left 3 members in the band, Mike on vocals, Josh on lead, and Amauri on drums.
With some luck in the end of 2008 Behind The Silence was reunited with its old members Jessie Cadena on rhythm and Andrew Mah on bass. The road to recovery had began with new songs, merchandise, and a rising fan base. BTS now consists of members Mike Cadena , Jessie Cadena , Andrew Mah, Amauri Segoviano, and Joshua Padilla. This time we found what we have been looking for. Hitting it hard on Guitar Center's Battle of the Bands and wining first place in the qualifying and semi-final rounds, Flashrock radio live web-cast exposure, and being on the front cover of Kulture Magazines May 2009 issue.
