BELEIVE... AND IT WILL BE!

About Me

Kat’s style of music is her own. Born to sing and determined to succeed, her voice has been described as soulful, powerful and sultry; she has performed in venues throughout Southern California and across the U.S.Kat is known for mixing many musical genres including blues, R&B, folk and pop. Songwriting and composing are strong elements of her artistic make-up as well as playing guitar (6 & 12-string) and piano.Performing for live audiences since childhood; Kat has many musical influences and a diverse musical background. R&B, painted with a bit of Blues and American folk rock, her music combines the best of both worlds. A result of her gypsy-esque childhood, Kat's music incorporates a flavor of each of her many short-lived residences across the U.S. Her influences are broad and range from Sam Cooke, Smokey Robinson, Wilson Picket, Ottis Redding, Nina Simone and the mighty Aretha Franklin to Janice Joplin, Susan Tedeschi, Eva Cassidy, Annie Lennox, Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow.Since the early 1990’s, Kat has been performing with various R&B and Blues bands- including “Johnny and the Soulfish”, “Forced Landing” “Midnight Blues” and in the acoustic duo “Kat & Valentine.” She evolved into a solo artist in 1999 and performs her original material as a singer/songwriter; she also performs as the lead singer in the Bootleggers and the blues/R&B band - Blue Mohicans - with drummer, Lenny Roberto, guitarist, Colin Ryan and talented R&B and rock bassist, Sean McNabb (Quiet Riot, Great White, Dokken). Kat also provides private vocal instruction in the Los Angeles area at the Goodrich Vocal Studio (a Speech Level Singing Studio) located in Universal City, CA. .... ..I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
